I hate to sound old on this issue, but why are people letting their kids listen to this music? America freaked out because Don Imus said “nappy headed hoes” but no kids even watch his show. These rap artists are saying waaaay worse than that, calling women bitches, hoes, whores and sluts. There’s also lyrics from some of these rappers that talk about killing police. No on says a word about this and it a much larger problem than Don Imus. Kids idolize Eminem, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent and the lyrics that these guys write are way more offensive. They talk about homicide, drugs, alcohol, oral sex, hitting women, drugging women and on and on. Children are so influenced by their idols and often will begin to mimic their behavior. This is a larger problem than anyone knows. These lyrics are an influence to the younger generation and it is part of their lives daily, It will effect them and not in a good way.
Just curious to see if anyone out the has the same view of this issue.

Hey Kaitlyn, I understand that you like those song but they degrade women in every way the possibly can. The promote date rape and murder. I head oneof guy say “SSHHHHH, women only speak when that are spoken too!”
I hope you will choose to find a more peacful and energising genre to listen to.
I didn’t say listening to rap will make one do bad things. I simply said that listening to it can influence attitudes in some young people. Clinical studies prove that time and time again.
I acually like a lot of rap music. I was listening to Eminem yesterday and I focused on the lyrics and remembered how disgusting they are. I wouldn’t want my kids listening to that while they are developing emotionally and very impressionable.
